'Destiny 2' release date update: Bungie to focus on sequel after release of 'Rise of Iron' DLC?
"Destiny 2" has been one of the most talked-about video game sequels that are rumored to come out anytime soon. According to reports, game developer Bungie has already confirmed the upcoming second installment; however, the company has yet to provide significant details with regard to its development and release date.
Latest reports suggest that the company is currently focusing on the upcoming DLC pack for the current game "Destiny." However, many fans believe that as soon as Bungie takes care of the new expansion, it will immediately shift its focus on the highly anticipated sequel.
"Destiny: Rise of Iron" is the name of the new "Destiny" expansion. It is said to include a massive new content that will provide a better gaming experience to all "Destiny" players all over the world. Unfortunately for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 users, the new DLC pack will no longer support older generation consoles. Apparently, the company has decided to move forward and avoid any restriction in their development that is caused by the shortcomings of older generations gaming consoles.
Players expect Bungie to provide more details about the new DLC before its official release on Sept. 20 for the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One. The "Destiny: Rise of Iron" DLC is also said to be beginner-friendly, which will give first-time players the opportunity to enjoy the game even though they only have limited knowledge about it.
"We think it's a really great time for new players to come in and see all of 'Destiny.' There's a lot of content," said Scott Taylor, executive producer of "Destiny." We actually think that the storyline and the new space are sweet, and the aesthetic of the place — it's going to be a great jumping on place for new fans."
