Game developer Bungie has already confirmed the release date of "Rise of Iron," the new DLC pack for the current online-only first-person shooter video game, "Destiny." Following its release, many fans are hoping that the company will now shift their focus on the upcoming development and release of the game's second installment.

It has already been confirmed by Bungie that a team from the company is already working on "Destiny 2." It was initially planned to be released this year; however, for some reason the release date target has been moved to 2017. According to PC Advisor, the reason for the delay is the development of the "Rise of Iron" DLC, which promises to be an exciting expansion for the current game.

"Destiny" has been one of the most popular video game today. Since its release in 2014, many people have already started talking about a sequel. It has been a huge success for Bungie and the company certainly hopes that the second installment will experience the same.

According to the game's publisher Activision, "Destiny" has been played by more than 25 million gamers all over the world since it came out in 2014. It has also logged over three billion playing hours. Both Activision and Bungie are extremely proud of what they have accomplished with "Destiny."

Meanwhile, according to a report by Express, a team of players from the company is already testing the "Rise of Iron" expansion. Bungie and Activision have yet to provide concrete details with regard to its release date; however, there are already speculations saying that the highly anticipated DLC will come out on Sept. 20 this year.

Unfortunately for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 users, they will have to upgrade to the latest consoles before they have the chance to play the new expansion. The expansion is expected to come out on the market with a $30 price tag.
