"Deus Ex: Mankind Divided" is in development and would be released soon, game-makers Square Enix and Eidos Montreal announced recently without citing a specific date.

Prior to the official announcement, leaks emerged that the game was coming to Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.

The official news of the game's upcoming arrival was made by Jean-Francois Dugas, the game's executive director, who even tweeted the art that would be included on the PS4 box for the game.

A trailer for "Deus Ex: Mankind Divided" was subsequently released along with an official statement from Square Enix announcing the game.

Within a few hours of the game's announcement, "Deus Ex: Mankind Divided" was available for pre-order on its official website.

The game is billed as a follow-up to "Deus Ex: Human Revolution." It takes place in 2029 and involves the return of hero Adam Jensen.

Jensen is seen in a world struggling to cope with the aftermath of the "Aug Incident" in Panchaea which caused the death of millions of people. That incident prompted people who have been augmented with cybernetics, such as Jensen, to split with those who are pure human.

Players are introduced into this situation via the first person action game. Added to the mix are the other characters who want to profit from the problems between modified humans and unaltered humans. As for Jensen, his cybernetic augmentation is still alive and well. As such, bullets still don't damage him. He can hack into computers from remote locations.

Players have the option to go through the game unseen or use guns and explosives to pass through levels, much like what was featured in "Deus Ex: Human Revolution."

As for the plot in the new game, Jensen appears to be working for "Task Force 29" which is fighting terrorists who may actually be augmented humans.

However, Game Informer said Jensen also covertly works for another group called "Juggernaut Collective."
