A new patch for "Dishonored 2" recently arrived in Steam, and it promises a lot of gameplay improvements as well as bug fixes.

The 1.3 patch includes an option to turn the motion blur feature off as well as general optimization and performance tweaks. It also fixes issues with mouse functionality and various problems tied to the interface. For full patch notes, players can check it out via PCGamer.

Given that the patch is still in beta, players need to opt in if they intend to have it right away. Interested users simply need to right-click the game in their Steam library, select the Properties option, then Betas and then choose BetaPatch from the drop-down menu. Users should close everything before waiting for the game to be updated. Once it's completed, the game's title in the Steam library will turn into "Dishonored 2 [BetaPatch]." If the patch still doesn't exist, players need to exit and restart Steam.

Many users have noticed that the PC version of "Dishonored" had a lot of issues, with the previous patch 1.2 even including 100 bug fixes. While it may have somewhat helped the overall game, "Dishonored 2" still has a long way to go before it gets to the state the developers want it to be in.

In a recent interview with Glixel, game director Harvey Smith discussed some factors that could have led the PC version to its current state. "There were certain combinations of things that we just didn't expect, despite extensively testing the game; very high-end CPUs with low-end GPUs, and older drivers, things like that," he explained. "I'm a PC gamer. There is nothing like running on a super high-end PC. But it's also the most varied platform to support. It's way, way more complicated than consoles," the director added.

Developed by Arkane Studios and published by Bethesda Softworks, "Dishonored 2" is available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Microsoft Windows PC.
