The long wait for the newest episodes of "Doctor Who" will soon be over, after BBC America released a new trailer for season 10.

The 50-second preview released during the show's special Christmas 2016 episode introduced Doctor Who's (Peter Capaldi) new companion Bill (Pearl Mackie), who seemed very clueless about everything that is connected with the Time Lord.

"I'm Bill. I serve chips. He's a professor. Or a lecturer. Or as I call him, 'Doctor What.' And now we go everywhere," Bill stated at the beginning of the trailer.

She seemed very excited to know everything about the Time Lord and his TARDIS, based on the number of questions that she asks.

The trailer also showed that Nardole (Matt Lucas) will return after appearing in the last two Christmas specials. This time, he will stick around to help the Time Lord and Bill in their next adventures. He might help the Doctor explain everything to Bill while his hands are tied as he fights the Daleks. Missy (Michelle Gomez) will also make an appearance in the 10th season of "Doctor Who" as the female version of the Doctor's greatest nemesis, The Master.

The upcoming season of "Doctor Who" will be the last for showrunner Steven Moffat. He will step down from the job. He talked about saying goodbye to the series at the start of the year and relinquishing the role to "Broadchurch" showrunner Chris Chibnall. "It took a lot of gin and tonic to talk him [Chibnall] into this, but I am beyond delighted that one of the true stars of British Television drama will be taking the Time Lord even further into the future," Moffat stated in a press release posted by TV Series Finale back in January.

BBC will air the premiere episode of "Doctor Who" season 10 sometime in Spring 2017.
