Goku's seemingly simple life will take on a drastic turn in all new "Dragon Ball Super" that could even lead to his sudden demise.

The upcoming episode 71 of the ongoing anime titled "Death of Goku! The Hit Job That Can't Be Refused" will be seeing the main protagonist go through his ordinary life until a certain assassin comes back to haunt him. According to the synopsis, courtesy of the lore veteran Herm98, the epic hitman Hit will be making his much-awaited and even dreaded return in the series as he sets out to kill Goku anew.

The big baddie may be a master at playing the killing spree game, but Goku is no stranger in terms of defending his life and keeping himself alive. Once he feels in his guts that something awry will eventually go down, he gets extra alert, anticipating that an enemy might strike down any minute. While the two goes head to head in a battle of massive proportions, the narrative is said to be taking on another episode which is why, the succeeding installment titled "Can You Counterattack?! An Invisible Assassination Technique," will be continuing the battle. Unfortunately, speculations suggest that when the dust of the battle finally sets, it looks like the Hitman will emerge victorious and Goku, defeated or worse, dead.

However, before followers of "Dragon Ball Super" prepare their tear ducts for an emotional death, rumors are rife that it could also be part of a plot twist that will see a longer story arc tackling Goku's battle with the Hitman. No hints though have been given as to how this staged ploy will be carried over moving forward; still, fans can hold on to the fact that while the fan-favorite seems to bite the dust in the episode, there is a chance that he will not stay that way.

Meanwhile, as previously reported, Dragon Ball Super" will finally land on North American TV screens with season 1 tipped to debut as part of Adult Swim's Toonami block next year. Starting Jan. 7, the anime will take the 8 p.m. ET and 11 p.m. ET slot every Saturday for the rest of its first season.
