'Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2' spoilers news 2016: New characters confirmed; DLCs could include characters from 'Dragon Ball Super'
"Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2," the sequel to the popular fighting role-playing video game "Dragon Ball Xenoverse," will be released later this year.
Bandai Namco shared some details about the upcoming game at the recently concluded Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3), where it was revealed that the second installment will feature a much larger hub city that can support as many as 300 players simultaneously. It was also announced that, for the first time, players will be able to move around on a hovering machine, the sequel's new transportation system.
According to GameSpot, new characters were also confirmed for "Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2." These new additions are Turles, the antagonist from the "Dragon Ball Z: The Tree of Might" movie, and Future Gohan, the alternate timeline counterpart of Gohan.
In a recent interview with RPG Site, "Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2" producer Masayuki Hirano spoke about how his team has improved the upcoming installment. Hirano addressed the complaints about the RNG (random number generation) factor in "Dragon Ball Xenoverse," saying that they are making a lot of adjustments and modifications to the sequel based on user feedback.
"The bottom line is that we made it easier to acquire costumes or maybe items that drop during battle," he said. "It's because we want our players to be able to move on to online matching — we don't want them to not go there just because they don't have specific items."
In an interview with Siliconera, Hirano hinted at the possibility of "Dragon Ball Super" characters appearing in "Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2."
"Since 'Dragon Ball Super' is still playing we are hoping to add those characters and features into the game," he said. "As you can imagine, it takes a long time to create a character. It may be before the game is released, it may be after."
"Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2" will be out later this year on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
