'Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2' news, update: Open beta test begins in October; New teasers for Super Saiyan Blue Goku and Vegeta, Golden Frieza revealed

The upcoming fighting video game from Bandai Namco, "Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2," will be featuring new contents in the original gameplay of the first game. For those who are interested to know more about the exciting additions in the sequel, the fans may check out the upcoming open beta release next month.

Gamers will get the first glimpse of the "Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2" gameplay in the beta version of the game. However, not everyone will have access to the open beta test scheduled in October. The beta will not be available for Xbox One and PC users as the "Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2" beta version is only exclusive for the PlayStation 4 console, iTech Post reported. Furthermore, the PS4 open beta will be released starting from Oct. 8 up to October 10. A few access codes will also be given to players who are interested in the closed beta version. From Oct. 14 to 16, the closed beta will be available for all players.

Meanwhile, Bandai Namco has presented a new teaser trailer for "Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2" at the recently concluded Tokyo Game Show 2016. The teaser video gives a closer look at the gameplay, including the new character customization where the players can change the appearance and accessories being worn by their characters. It also revealed the premise of the video game, stating the past events that eventually led to the new conflict in the "Xenoverse" sequel.

As reported by Yibada, the "Xenoverse" villains Towa and Mira will be joining forces with other classic "Dragon Ball" series villains like Lord Slug, Cooler and Turles to take down the Time Patrollers.

Meanwhile, it was also revealed that the Super Saiyan Blue versions of Son Goku and Vegeta will make an appearance in "Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2," Siliconera reported. These two will be included in the new roster along with Time Breaker Bardock and Golden Frieza, which was first introduced in the movie "Dragon Ball: Resurrection F."

The new Hub City of Conton was introduced where the players are expected to create their own characters and start their journey. They can choose among the Human, Saiyan, Namekan, Frieza race and Majin race to be their character's kind. Each kind has its own unique abilities and transformations, where they can be able to transform into Super Saiyan, Great Namekan, and Golden Frieza form.

On the other hand, a new online game mode called the Expert Mission will allow the players to team up to six members to go on different missions and take down powerful bosses together.

"Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2" will be released for PS4, Xbox One and PC platform on Oct. 25.
