'Dynasty Warriors 9' reboot gameplay, release date news: Koei Tecmo takes gigantic China map; character Zhou Cang takes the lead
It seems like all game publishers are taking their respective titles to an open-world concept — even Koei Tecmo already gave hints about the upcoming "Dynasty Warriors" series treading this path. The "Dynasty Warriors 9" has a lot to offer to the avid players such as being able to choose different maps.
There are little-known details about "Dynasty Warriors 9" as of this time, except that the map is situated in China and it is believed to be huge. However, veterans hope that the map will have more features to offer since other areas may be deemed useless if there is nothing to do in them.
The upcoming title also has more than 80 characters in the game, which according to BitBag, has the most number of characters in its roster across the "Dynasty Warriors" franchise. The gigantic roster may mean that some are just another version of the other.
It could be noted that in "Dynasty Warriors 6," most of the characters have similar traits. It is therefore expected that "Dynasty Warriors 9" will have characters with their own unique capabilities.
In the previous titles of the franchise, players can customize their chosen characters with accessories and weapons. The publication is expecting that the developer will offer full customization, not only for the characters but for the empire as well.
Koei Tecmo already confirmed "Dynasty Warriors 9" during the Jump Fiesta 2016, announcing that character Zhou Cang, known for his role in the Chinese novel "Three Kingdoms," in which the game franchise is based upon, will take the lead role. However, the company did not confirm which console the upcoming title will support, but it is most likely the PlayStation 4 (PS4).
As for the release date, nothing is confirmed as well. Avid players are looking forward to more details as Koei Tecmo works on the title. Until then, players will have to see if the game will deliver great features with its gigantic map.
