'Elder Scrolls 6' release date news: Bethesda not working on the sixth installment?
Many fans got excited when the highly anticipated "Elder Scrolls 6" was revealed to be in the works during the recently concluded Electronic Entertainment Expo or E32016. According to director Todd Howard, game developer Bethesda is currently working on the sixth installment of the open world action role-playing video game franchise, "Elder Scrolls." Howard has also admitted that the game is still a long way to go from its completion.
However, new reports have surfaced suggesting that the company has not started the development of the highly anticipated fifth sequel of the game. The contradicting report came from the company's marketing executive Pete Hines who revealed that they are not working on the game.
Hines also said that "Elder Scrolls 6" is still years away from being released. In one of his previous interviews, Hines said that the company is working on three new crazy projects. There were speculations suggesting that one of the projects is the "Elder Scrolls 6." However, the marketing executive backpedaled and issued a statement that fans and critics should not have taken his context seriously.
"I should have never said a number because we have so many things. You could add it up in different ways," Hines said. "You could say it's bigger or smaller. They're a long way off. I think the larger point was, no one should expect to hear about those [games] anytime soon. We always overlap projects. We just have more going on now than we had before."
Meanwhile, despite the contradicting reports, many fans are hoping that the game will come out anytime soon. They are also expecting Bethesda to release an official statement regarding the development and the release date of the upcoming title.
There are also speculations suggesting that the next installment of the series will come out on VR. It will certainly be interesting for the fans to see the game like never before.
