Soon "Elder Scrolls Online" players can tinker with their personally made settlements in the game via the new feature called Homestead as it gets an official release date in February of next year.

The player-owned customizable housing system mode called Homestead was first announced during the annual Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) earlier this June and has since then captured the interest of many loyal players of the multiplayer role-playing title. This week, the folks behind "Elder Scrolls Online" went ahead and released juicier details with regard to the brand-new feature and they did not seem to hold back in terms of the possibilities of what can be done.

As it turns out, the new downloadable content (DLC) will be introducing 40 different homes from all over the gaming map, within which players can find their respective spots and from there, start working on their houses. There are 40 types of structures that are up for grabs while over 2,000 items are available for crafting skills that can be used by players in making their abodes the way they want it.

"Unfurnished homes will be available for purchase with either in-game Gold or with Crowns in the Crown Store," Bethesda explains. "Fully furnished homes will be available for purchase through the Crown Store with Crowns. Players will be allowed to preview homes prior to purchase, whether furnished and unfurnished."

Those who are wanting to get on with multiple properties can also do so. And with the plethora of add-ons to the content, there will be no shortage in terms of designs making each home unique. Furthermore, other customizable items can be added. Gamers will "have the option of placing pets, mounts, and useful functional items in your homes, including Assistants, Crafting Stations, working light fixtures, and even Target Skeletons (with which you can practice combat and builds)."

The settlement sets up a society in the "Elder Scrolls Online" game that will provide more the feel of a role-playing game with partakers being able to interact with other players from across the internet. Bethesda furthers on the concept, saying: "When Homestead launches, you'll be able to craft, test class builds, host parties and roleplay gatherings, and more — all from the comfort and convenience of your own home."

Alongside the extensive announcement, an accompanying first trailer was also published, which can be viewed below:

The best part about this upcoming Homestead rollout? It is free. Players can download it without paying any more extra to build their own houses for their "Elder Scrolls Online" characters.
