'Fairy Tail' chapters 516, 517 spoilers: Erza battles Wendy as Natsu's journey draws to a close

Even though Irene may have once cared for the daughter she carried in her womb for more than a hundred years, all such feelings have now been clouded by a much greater desire for self-preservation. Now that she has finally found a human body to take over, will the fight between mother and daughter end in tragedy?

In the previous chapter of the Japanese manga series "Fairy Tail," Irene claimed that she no longer felt anything for her child after narrating her tragic story failed to remind her of her past affection for Erza. A fight between them soon ensued with the dragon slayer Wendy providing assistance by enhancing Erza's attacks with her enchantments. However, this turned out to be counterproductive to the Fairy Tail guilders' victory when Irene ended up enchanting herself into Wendy's body.

It turned out that in order for Erza's enchantment to work, she would have to enchant herself into a compatible body. Being both an enchanter and dragon slayer like Irene, Wendy was a perfect fit. And in the upcoming chapter 517 titled "Wendy Belserion," Erza will be forced to hold her ground against an erstwhile ally. Will Wendy be able to reverse Irene's enchantment from within? Will Erza end up conceding defeat to protect her friend, or keep fighting at the risk of ending either Wendy's or her own life?

Meanwhile, Igneel had revealed that the dragon seed and the demon seed within Natsu had been trying to fuse together, which would account for his dying state. Is there a way to stop Natsu's impending transformation into E.N.D. and his eventual death? And should he transform, can the Fairy Tail guild hold their ground against him without having to end his life?

One source theorized that Erza may have come out either dead or a dragon after Irene carried her in her womb for more than a hundred years. This could have also been the reason why Irene was unable to enchant herself into her daughter's body, and may have instead chosen to use what remained of her powers to ensure that Erza lived a normal life. If this where true and Irene may still be harboring some secret affections for her child, their battle could end in a potentially dramatic way.

As for Natsu, it is speculated that Mavis may come to check on him and save the day.
