'Fallout: New Vegas' DLC release date, news, and updates: Latest 'The Frontier' mod trailer released
An eye-popping trailer for the much-anticipated The Frontier mod for "Fallout: New Vegas" has been recently released.
The Frontier is reportedly one of the most ambitious mods currently being developed for "Fallout: New Vegas." As fans know, The Frontier is an enormous mod project that has been underway for more than a year now. Even though it still doesn't have a projected launch date, the developers gave anticipating gamers a glimpse of what they have been working on by posting a new clip showcasing the DLC's stunning visual quality and features.
In the video, it appears that The Frontier will include a new snow-covered location, along with new voiced characters and quests. When it comes to gameplay, the mod introduces a number of key features not seen in the original game. This includes persistent weapon modding, large scale battles as well as a quick loot mechanic. What makes these battles more appealing is the idea that players will be able to fly/drive the vehicles themselves. Also, the mod allows low-gravity combat in space, new monsters, weapons, and more.
Set in Portland, Oregon, The Frontier moves the story from the desert into the chilly backwoods of the Pacific Northwest. Aside from new weaponry and creatures, a brand new 16-kilometer square map forms the chassis of the massive mod.The Frontier will tell the story of a character named General Blackthorn from the New California Republic. He tries to oust President Kimball due to his poor leadership in the fight against the Legion. As a result, Blackthorn is exiled to The Frontier. While in the area, he must fight his way back to the Mojave for revenge and to claim what is rightfully his. As noted on the mod's official website, The Frontier is roughly three-quarters complete, with scripting needing the most attention.
Bethesda has yet to announce an official date for the game's The Frontier mod.
