'Fear the Walking Dead' season 2 episode 12 plot news: Episode hints at reunion; Ofelia goes off on her own
It looks like everyone's paths are about to cross again soon.
"Fear the Walking Dead" season 2, episode 12 titled, "Pillar of Salt" finally gave Madison (Kim Dickens) proof that her estranged son Nick (Frank Dillane) was still alive. However, this revelation came at the expense of Victor's (Colman Domingo) well-being.
In the previous episode, Victor had managed to convince the grieving widower Oscar (Andres Londono) that his zombie wife, Jessica (Schuyler Fisk), was better off dead. He should've also talked to the bride's mother, except that he didn't and Ilene (Brenda Strong) eventually decided to stab him in the gut for killing off her daughter.
This prompted Madison to imprison Eileen in a room and declare a "no violence" law that would get anyone who raised a hand to someone else thrown out of the Rosarito Beach Hotel for good. The Guardian speculated this declaration could soon come back to taunt Madison's own resolve.
Victor's injury also prompted one other thing: a trip to the Pelicano big-box supermarket. Elena's nephew, Antonio (Ruben Carbajal) turned out to be a member of the Pelicano gang. A stray comment about a "ratty-haired gringo" convinced Madison that Nick was still alive and was close by. She would subsequently endanger everybody else's lives by turning on the sign at the top of the hotel to serve as a beacon to Nick.
But Nick had already settled in La Colonia, taking matters into his own hands and quite possibly putting the community in danger of getting attacked by the Pelicano gang.
Meanwhile, Alison (Alycia Debnam-Carey) seemed to have had enough of her mother's constant attempts to reach out to Nick, even after her older brother had left them of his own will. She had decided to stay with her mother to try and make things work, and would like Madison to at least afford her the same courtesy. Madison turned the hotel sign off in response but not before Travis caught sight of it from a distance.
Ofelia's whereabouts had also been revealed after she left the hotel on Victor's truck. She seemed to be on her way to search for the man she had refused a marriage proposal from in order to take care of her parents.
The next episode of "Fear the Walking Dead" will reveal what happened to Travis before he saw the hotel's lit sign. Based on the official preview released by AMC, it seemed like Travis was not the only one who noticed it.
"Fear the Walking Dead" season 2 episode 13 titled, "Date of Death" will air on Sunday, Sept. 25 at 9 p.m. EDT on AMC.
