'Final Fantasy 7 Remake' delay: 'Kingdom Hearts 3' the reason for delay; more details expected at MAGIC
While there are games that took several years before being launched for public consumption, there are those never made it to the market. "Final Fantasy 7 Remake" is taking longer than usual and so gamers are beginning to wonder if the game is truly delayed, or have already been canceled.
The development of "Final Fantasy 7 Remake" is taking too long, causing the gamers to be impatient already. This is apparently understandable given the fact that the original title has been one of the most popular games ever since it came out. In fact, according to Video Games Republic, it is one title that made Square Enix more famous than ever.
This is why "Final Fantasy 7" has a historic value that avid fans have recognized. This leads to the question of why "Final Fantasy 7 Remake" is not released yet.
It seems like one of the culprits is the "Kingdom Hearts 3." Game director Tetsuya Nomura told Famitsu that there are factors that made the development of "Final Fantasy 7 Remake" more difficult.
As translated by GamingBolt, Nomura said: "It can be difficult for the in-office and non-office staff to link up. And then there's Kingdom Hearts 3 on top, and then the supervision works a little differently than it has before now."
"But these issues are physical ones, not ones with the [game] content, and we are currently moving towards solutions with the combined efforts of each section, so please don't worry," he added.
The game director further continued to express his apology to the fans who have been waiting in vain. He then assured that both titles will meet the gamers' expectations.
No release date for "Final Fantasy 7 Remake" has been revealed yet, but fans believe that it will be out soon since Nomura confirmed that he will attend the Monaco Anime Game International Conference (MAGIC) on Feb. 18.
