Easily one of the most recognizable titles in the history of gaming, "Final Fantasy" has built a cult following. Now fans are eagerly awaiting the remake of one of the series' most popular editions, "Final Fantasy 7."

It was already announced previously that the game was going to be remade, but there is still no exact timeframe for its release.

Still believed to be in the early stages of development, "Final Fantasy 7 Remake" should still be one of the most anticipated titles in recent memory.

Game developer Square Enix is also going to be working on other games for the franchise, with "Final Fantasy XV" and "Final Fantasy XII: Zodiac Age" reportedly in the works.

According to Breathecast, the remake will be similar to "Final Fantasy XIII" as it will also feature a number of full-length games.

Below is the trailer released by Square Enix back in 2015.

Despite the game failing to make an appearance at the recent Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) in California, many were happy to know that it is still well into its development. The game developers have also given insight into how the project will move forward.

According to game producer Yoshinori Kitase, the remake will be extended to different episodes and games, making sure the plot of "Final Fantasy VII" is maximized.

In a previous interview with Game Informer (via GameSpot), Kitase said: "It will essentially be a full scale game for each part of the multi-part series. In 'XIII,' each instalment told the story from a different angle. It was kind of like approaching an unknown territory in a sense. Whereas with 'Final Fantasy VII Remake,' we already have a preexisting story, so it wouldn't really make sense if that isn't encompassed in a multi-part series. So if we're just looking at each of these parts, one part should be on par with the scale of one 'Final Fantasy XIII' game."

This update should excite fans as they eagerly await how the remake version of fan-favorite "Final Fantasy 7" will be played out. With news that the game will be even more in-depth, expect hours upon hours of gameplay when the title releases probably in 2017 or 2018.
