'Final Fantasy XV' DLC news: game director teases 'unannounced expansion' and further evolution of game
It looks like there is plenty of downloadable content (DLC) coming to "Final Fantasy XV." In a new interview, the game's director, Hajime Tabata, revealed exciting news about Square Enix's post-launch plans.
During a chat for the latest issue of Famitsu, Tabata spoke about his goals for the year, which had a lot to do with the latest "Final Fantasy" installment.
"We will evolve our released game Final Fantasy XV more and more, and together with it, we will also evolve. We will further evolve the foundation and know-how of Final Fantasy XV in preparation for new initiatives," he said (as translated by Dual Shockers).
"Final Fantasy XV is undergoing development for the updates, and we're also working on an unannounced awesome expansion, so please look forward to it," he went on to say.
So far, only one DLC has been rolled out for "Final Fantasy XV," which was released November last year. This expansion is the Holiday Pack, which came with a free version too.
Tabata has long been teasing Square Enix's expansive plans for the post-launch support for "Final Fantasy XV" even before the mention of the unannounced DLC,
He also spoke at length about the release of additional free DLCs as well as expansions that will add new characters and even allow players to create their own playable characters.
Tabata's team also appears to be looking for exciting ways to expand the world and story of "Final Fantasy XV" so that players will always have something new to look forward to in the game.
It is believed that this DLC in question will be made official during the upcoming Active Time Report. A date for the event is yet to be announced though.
It is expected to take place this month so it might not be a long wait and this mystery "Final Fantasy XV" DLC should be mystery no more soon.
