The first free DLC for "Final Fantasy XV" comes out just a few days before Christmas, and it will feature the return of a classic monster.

According to reports, the "Final Fantasy XV" Holiday Pack will be available for all users who purchased the game on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, while a special version called Holiday Pack+ will be launched for those that have the Season Pass. The DLC's most notable feature is the New Game Plus mode, which allows players to open saved data from a completed playthrough into a new game. Both expansion packs include outfits that can be used for Noctis, along with a Carnival ticket as a pass to the upcoming Moogle Chocobo carnival event in January. Meanwhile, the Holiday Pack+ offers extra boosters and decorative photo frames for in-game photos.

Along with the upcoming free DLC, Square Enix will unleash more expansion packs for each of the boy band members except Noctis. VG 24/7 managed to get a word with "Final Fantasy XV" producer Haruyoshi Sawatari, and he explained that Gladiolus' story DLC would allow players to venture into new areas. It will also further explore Gladiolus' disappearance before the long journey to Altissia. Sawatari added that the DLC will see Gladiolus facing off with classic "Final Fantasy" monster, Gilgamesh.

The said character made its debut in the franchise through the classic SNES title "Final Fantasy V" before occasionally popping into various installments from "Final Fantasy VIII" up until "Final Fantasy XIV." Gilgamesh will soon make its "Final Fantasy XV" debut as an opponent that Gladiolus will have to fight against on his own. Details on how Gilgamesh will look in the present game remain unclear, but according to Sawatari, the character will be formidable enough for Gladiolus to deal with.

Developed and published by Square Enix, "Final Fantasy XV" is available for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
