'Final Fantasy XV' release date, news and updates: Amazon Japan finds unique way to advertise game
A lot of gamers are looking forward to the release of Square Enix's "Final Fantasy XV," and Amazon Japan has found a creative way to promote it with a little guerrilla marketing.
According to reports, Amazon Japan has a package cover that makes the box look like it was torn apart only to reveal a copy of "Final Fantasy XV" inside. Hopefully, Amazon customers get in on the joke.
As for the game itself, "Final Fantasy XV" centers on a character named Noctis. Noctis is the crown prince of the Kingdom of Lucis, and the whole game follows him on his journey to reclaim the throne from the threat of an imperial army. Along for the ride is Noctis' group of old friends.
Square Enix has released an in-depth trailer that features the characters players are going to meet throughout the game. According to the video, Noctis' gang consists of different individuals who each have a different contribution to the group.
Prompto, who is of common birth, is considered to be the "heart" of the group. He is a longtime friend of Noctis. He has skills in photography, and should a fight come out, he is also a skilled marksman.
Ignis is supposed to be the brains of the group, and he was raised to become Noctis' adviser should he claim the throne. He is the group's main strategist, and he wields twin knives whenever in a fight. He is also quite a skilled cook.
The eldest member of the group is Gladioulus, and his family is traditionally in charge of the protection of the royal family. Aside from being the group's "tank" fighter, Gladioulus also has survival skills that help him pick up items whenever the group is camping out.
"Final Fantasy XV" is set for release on Wednesday, Nov. 29.
