The upcoming game was scheduled for a Sept. 30 release for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. According to the company, the new release date is on Nov. 29, two months past its original schedule.

The announcement was made by none other than the game director himself, Hajime Tabata. According to him, the delay is important for them to make sure the game runs smoothly when it finally hits the market.

"From the moment we joined this project, our vision was to create a level of freedom and realism previously unseen in the series," said Tabata in a YouTube video translated by Polygon. "Regrettably, we need a little bit more time to deliver on this vision and are confident that this new release date will help us achieve this. As the director and lead of this project, I wish to personally apologize for the additional wait. As a team, we want Final Fantasy XV to achieve a level of perfection that our fans deserve. We kindly ask for your understanding," Tabata added.

Apparently, Tabata and his team are not quite confident that they have reached the "highest possible quality" they have expected, Time reported.

The new delay is definitely disappointing for many "Final Fantasy" fans who were already expecting the game to come out late next month. However, many fans are also keeping positive, hoping that the delay will be worth it.

Fans and critics are also hoping that no more delays will happen after this. It is expected that Square Enix will provide more details about the release sometime soon.
