'Five Nights at Freddy's 3' Release Date News, Rumors: Teaser Trailer Video Launched, Creator Rebuts Rumors
A teaser for the third instalment of the game series "Five Nights at Freddy's" has been uploaded online, but fans might have to wait a little longer for the game's release.
In the "Five Nights at Freddy's 3" page in SteamCommunity.com, indie game developer Scott Cawthon denied rumors among fans that the single-player, action-strategy-horror game will be up for grabs early next month.
Cawthon posted this announcement on Tuesday with the title "#1 on Steam Greenlight!," thanking fans for their support and saying there is still a lot of work to be done on the upcoming game.
"Thanks to all of your awesome support, Five Nights at Freddy's 3 has hit number one on Steam Greenlight! I was really unprepared for such an outpouring of great comments and upvotes; I'm very grateful and humbled. :)"
"I want to take a second to debunk a rumor that the game will be released on February 5th, however. ;) Although I've made a lot of progress on the game, there is still a LOT of work to be done. I'm working hard to make a great game for all of you so try to be patient."
According to Cawthon's description, the game takes place three decades after the Freddy Fazbear's Pizza closed.
"The events that took place there have become nothing more than a rumor and a childhood memory, but the owners of 'Fazbear's Fright: The Horror Attraction' are determined to revive the legend and make the experience as authentic as possible for patrons, going to great lengths to find anything that might have survived decades of neglect and ruin."
Cawthon also hinted about the attraction having "one animatronic."
"At first there were only empty shells, a hand, a hook, an old paper-plate doll, but then a remarkable discovery was made... The attraction now has one animatronic."
The teaser video, which reads "He will come back," "He always does," and "We have a place for him," featured a seemingly new animatronic character.
"It's assumed that this new character was constructed using parts from the machines featured in the original 'Five Nights At Freddy's,'" said Design & Trend.
"While no name for the creature has been confirmed, the 'Five Nights At Freddy's' Reddit community has resorted to calling it Golden Bonnie."
One photo teaser showed a blood-stained box with empty character head masks.
Another showed a screen grab of the game showing that audio devices, camera system, and ventilation are all on error.
Previously, Swedish YouTube star and video game reviewer Felix Arvid Ulf Kjellberg (known by his online alias as "PewDiePie") as well as fellow YouTube commentator Kenneth Charles Morrison (known as CinnamonToastKen) predicted that the game will be released on Feb. 5 based on calculations on the last two games' release dates and "The Bite of '87."
"The first fact might actually be true," PewDie was quoted as saying in a video by Empty Lighthouse Magazine. "[CinnamonToastKen and I] discovered it by accident, and I think it'd be hilarious if it turned out to be correct."
