'For Honor' release date, latest news: Ubisoft announces PC system requirements needed to run game
Ahead of the launch of its multiplayer beta version, Ubisoft has recently announced the minimum and recommended specs for the PC version of the highly-awaited video game "For Honor." Gamers will need to either meet or surpass these specifications in order to play the game on the PC.
According to GameRant, the minimum and recommended specifications are reasonably accessible, allowing gamers who own mid-range and high-power gaming systems to try out the game.
It must be noted, however, that Ubisoft's recommended specs have factored in players who keep the VSync off. Hence, those gamers who wish to maximize the game's visual experience and its solid 60 FPS may need to have a better PC than what Ubisoft has recommended.
As reported by Gamespot, gamers who wish to play "For Honor" once it is officially released must, at the very least, have a Core i3-550 or Phenom II X4 955, 4 GB of RAM, and a GTX 660 or HD 6970. Meeting the minimum requirements provided by Ubisoft only produces a target resolution of 720 with Low settings and a frame rate of 30 FPS, which isn't how many PC gamers would prefer to play the game.
In order to enjoy a 1080p and around 60 FPS experience with High settings, Ubisoft recommended the use of a 95-2500K or FX-6350 along with 8 GB of RAM and at least a GTX 680 or R9 280X. As mentioned earlier, this recommendation is with the VSync disabled. Hence, for those who would want to have even more advanced visual settings, a much higher-end hardware will be needed.
In the same announcement, Ubisoft also provided a list of video cards that are supported at launch. A list of fully and partially supported controllers was also provided.
The game's multiplayer beta version is scheduled to run for four days on PC, Xbox One, and the PlayStation 4, starting on Jan. 26. After the conclusion of the game's beta version, the full game version of "For Honor" is scheduled to be released on Feb. 14.
