'Forza Horizon 3' news, gameplay updates: new expansion arrives next month, to bring snow and blizzard
"Forza Horizon 3" gets its newest downloadable content (DLC) next month and it will bring snow and blizzard just in time for the upcoming change of the season. The new expansion pack called Blizzard Mountain will feature eight new cars and 50 new events and challenges.
The players' ultimate goal in the expansion pack is to become the King of the Mountain. "With more than 50 new events and challenges to compete in, the expansion tests drivers' skills across extreme weather and brand new race types, including Hill Climb, Descent and Blizzard race events," Turn 10 Studios explained in the official announcement of Blizzard Mountain.
The newest expansion will also feature new terrains and driving conditions that will surely give "Forza Horizon 3" racers a tough challenge. For example, racers will encounter new areas such as a snow park designed for extreme sports and a massive frozen lake.
As mentioned, Blizzard Mountain includes eight new cars such as the 2016 Ford Gymkhana 9 Focus RS RX, a vehicle 10-inch wider than Focus RS with almost twice the horsepower; 1965 Ford F-100 Flareside Abatti Racing Trophy Truck, a "real truck" in the desert with four shocks per corner and leaf springs; 1975 Lancia Stratos HF Group 4, dubbed "one of the most legendary rally cars in history"; 1985 Lancia Delta S4 Group B, sports and engine with super charger and a turbo that is capable of up to 500 high-revving horsepower.
The list of new cars continues with the 2016 Nissan Titan Warrior Concept, another car that is best fit for desert racing and runs with Cummins Turbo Diesel; 2016 RJ Anderson #37 Polaris RZR-Rockstar Energy Pro 2 Truck, a two-wheel race truck that offers unlimited options of modifications; and lastly, the 2016 Subaru #199 WRX STI VT15r Rally Car, the very car driven by motorsport legend Travis Pastrana.
Blizzard Mountain also features 28 achievements for racers to collect that will bring them at least 500 Xbox Gamerscores.
The winter-themed expansion pack can be bought separately or as part of the game's Expansion Pass. Blizzard Mountain will go live on Dec. 13.
