The release of "Frozen" proved to be a massive success for Disney, and probably one of the most recognizable elements from that movie is the song "Let It Go" by broadway actress Idina Menzel. Menzel will reportedly not be returning for the sequel that will come out in 2018.

According to reports, Menzel will not be able to do work on the sequel because of her wedding preparations. No official statement has been released by Disney, but some are already speculating that the company is actively looking for another actress to replace Menzel.

A source speculates that the best choice for the replacement would be former Disney Channel star Demi Lovato. Aside from her connections to Disney, Lovato also provided her own cover of the hit song "Let It Go." Her vocal range may have the capacity to rival that of Menzel's.

Other names in the mix are Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande and Rihanna.

With Menzel's possible departure from the sequel, the only cast members who are rumored to return are Kristen Bell (Anna), Josh Gad (Olaf), Jonathan Groff (Kristoff) and Santino Fontana (Hans).

As for the plot of the movie, rumors are going around that the sequel will present love interests for both Elsa and Olaf. Olaf is speculated to be a human trapped in a snowman's body. The sequel is said to see him return to his original form.

Some fans have also been clamoring for Disney to make Elsa fall in love with a woman, making her the first openly homosexual Disney princess (or rather, queen). Though the move may be a bold one for Disney, it will definitely send a strong message to the LGBT community.

No official release date has been announced, but fans can expect "Frozen 2" to hit theaters in 2018.
