'Frozen 2' spoilers and rumors: Sequel now ready for production?

New reports emerge saying that Disney's Academy Award winner "Frozen" is now geared for its sequel production. Previously, Disney has reportedly delayed the production over financial, storyline, and soundtrack concerns.

The hugely successful movie is touted as the highest-grossing animated film of all time. Three years since the animated film went onscreen, the producers finally have all they needed to kick start the making of the highly anticipated sequel drawing obvious smiles on every "Frozen" fans.

Recently, voice actress Kristen Bell (Anna) explained why it took the entertainment giant quite some time to follow-up on the original movie's box office success.

"They take a lot of time over there to just perfect it. It has to go through a lot of development to make sure it's exactly the story that needs to be told. The story is great, and they exude quality. They wanted to figure out what story they needed to tell and what would be important and engaging, and I think they found it," Bell said per Fab Newz report.

As production starts to roll, the rumor mill is still replete with countless theories and speculations over Anna and Elsa's fate in the movie. Some rumors point to a possible cross-world reference to Disney's other notable properties like "Tarzan" and "Little Mermaid." Moreover, there is also the seemingly endless debate over Elsa's gender identity. Gay advocates took to the social media to campaign for Elsa's lesbian identity. On the other side of the fence, the conservatives called to maintain the promotion of family-oriented values in Disney movies.

Amid the abovementioned controversies comes another challenge for the "Frozen 2" production. "Let It Go" has been extremely popular and has spawned countless covers by music artists and even YouTubers. Per Ecumenical News, one of the sequel's obvious mission now is to replicate the success of "Let It Go" in another soundtrack masterpiece.

It is understandable why the next installment to the "Frozen" franchise takes a little while ahead of its purported 2018 big screen release. Expectations run high so it's unlikely the producers will do the filming haphazardly.
