Fujifilm X-A10 release date, specs, price news: Mirrorless digital camera ideal for selfies
Fujifilm has introduced a new mirrorless digital camera to the X Series — the X-A10. It comes in a compact, lightweight body with a retro design and delivers high quality images. It is also easy to use, making it an ideal first interchangeable lens camera for consumers who are just starting to get into photography.
The Fujifilm X-A10 features a 16.3-megapixel APS-C CMOS sensor. Together with the image processing engine and Fujifilm's color reproduction technology, the mirrorless camera is able to deliver accurate reproduction of skin tones during portraits or of foliage in landscape photos. The X-A10's normal sensitivity range is ISO 200 to 6400 but can be extended up to 25600. This minimizes noise in photos even when shooting at night or indoors.
Users can choose from different shooting modes and there are also advanced filters like Fisheye, Toy Camera, Pop Color, and Soft Focus. The built-in pop-up flash utilizes a Super Intelligent Flash system that controls light output based on the shooting environment so photos are still impressive even in low-light or intense sunlight situations.
The Fujifilm X-A10 has a 3-inch LCD screen with a slide-and-tilt mechanism that can be adjusted up to 180 degrees. This is ideal for taking selfies. Moreover, for self-portraits, users can take advantage of the ergonomically shaped grip and the easy to access shutter for minimal camera shake. When the screen is tilted, Eye Detection Autofocus is automatically activated. Other features include Smile Detection, Buddy Timer and Group Timer.
To help those who are new to photography, there are two Command Dials. Users can access the first dial using their thumb to adjust aperture, shutter speed and exposure settings. Meanwhile, the other button can be assigned to frequently used functions like self-timer or continuous shooting.
The digital camera also comes with an energy-efficient Li-on battery that can shoot up to 410 frames in a single charge. It allows for USB charging so users don't have to worry about running out of battery when traveling.
Furthermore, the X-A10 has Wi-Fi connectivity for easy transferring and sharing of photos and videos via the free Fujifilm Camera Remote app. The Remote Shoot function also lets users adjust the settings from their smartphone or tablet.
The Fujifilm X-A10 will come with the standard zoom kit lens XC16-50mm f/3.5-5.6 OIS II. It comes in two colors: two-toned silver and black. The mirrorless digital camera will be available to purchase for $500 starting January 2017.
