More episodes of the hit family sitcom "Fuller House" are expected to hit Netflix in December, and both fans and the cast of the binge-worthy show can hardly contain their excitement over the promised guest appearance of a popular '90s boy band. But are rumors about a weekly episode release true?

The Netflix original series did so well in its first season run that the second installment has been fast- tracked to an earlier release. 13 more episodes of "Fuller House" are coming in December in the usual binge-watching bundle, but speculations about the show's potential for a successful weekly format have been making the rounds.

With only weeks from its scheduled release, will Netflix really consider streaming "Fuller House" episodes on a weekly basis? It doesn't seem likely at this point, but Decider has presented some very viable arguments about why "Fuller House" should be a weekly show, which could be considered for future seasons.

One reason pointed out is that since the second season of "Fuller House" will circle around a different holiday in each episode, a weekly release could give fans more time to savor and discuss the nostalgic celebrations with family and friends. A weekly release could also extend the buzz about "Fuller House" to more than just a couple of weeks, as opposed to binge-watching the show in one day.

And since the show has accumulated such a huge following on its first run, "Fuller House" is believed to have the potential to Netflix's first hit title released in weekly installments. And the expected success of the show could likely influence other Netflix original shows to take on a weekly format.

But for now, all 13 episodes of "Fuller House" season 2 are scheduled to be released in one day, with the promised addition of some new and familiar characters like D.J.'s (Candace Cameron) ex-boyfriend Nelson, who will be played by "Queer as Folk" star Hal Sparks taking over from the original actor Jason Marsden.

Other characters who are expected to make an appearance are Joey's (Dave Coulier) wife and children, Kimmy's (Andrea Barber) younger brother, a freakish D.J. clone, and the popular '90s boy band, New Kids on the Block.

Soni Nicole Bringas, who plays Kimmy's teenage daughter Ramona, recently tweeted a photo of herself and her on-screen mom with the NKOTB, which further confirms the boy band's appearance in the show.

All episodes of "Fuller House" season 2 will be available on Friday, Dec. 9, on Netflix. Watch the official trailer below.
