The LG G Flex 2 is undoubtedly a better version of the G Flex, but the former has a smaller screen which irked some people when it was released. Here's a comparison of the two devices.

Design

The G Flex 2 has a plastic frame and body much like the G Flex but the company has put more thought into the design and given it a lighter and thinner makeover. Just like its predecessor, the G Flex, the G Flex 2 also can be bent as it has a curve that extends from top to bottom. Both phones can be held comfortably by one hand. As for the self-healing coating on the back of the G Flex, it has been improved in the G Flex 2 where minor scratches can be removed in just 10 seconds.

Display

The G Flex is larger than the G Flex 2; hence it has a bigger curved P-OLED screen, measuring 6.0 inches with a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels and a density of 245 pixels per inch. As for the G Flex 2, it has a curved P-OLED screen measuring 5.5 inches with a resolution of1080 x 1920 pixels and a density of 403 pixels per inch.

Platform

The G Flex comes loaded with an Android Jelly Bean operating system, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chipset, coupled with a quad-core 2.26 GHz Krait 400 CPU, and Adreno 330 GPU. As for the G Flex 2, it has the Android Lollipop operating system, Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chipset, a CPU with a quad-core Cortex-A53 clocked at 1.5 GHz, a quad-core Cortex-A57 clocked at 2 GHz and Adreno 430 GPU.

Memory

In terms of memory card slots, the G Flex does not have one but the G Flex 2 has got this slot which can be used to add external storage of up to 128 GB. In terms of RAM, the G Flex 2 comes with 2 GB or 3 GB while the G Flex has 2 GB worth.

Price

The G Flex is priced at $99 with a two-year contract, while the G Flex 2, which is due for release shortly, is expected to carry a $680 price tag.
