Galaxy S6 vs Mi Note Comparison: Xiaomi Device is Cheaper But Samsung Phone is Faster
Xiaomi is quickly catching up with market leaders Samsung and Apple in Asia with the Mi Note Pro as its latest phablet. Comparing the Mi Note Pro with the Galaxy S6 from Samsung, one can easily see the big difference between their price and RAM.
Design
Both devices come with the same materials, but the Mi Note Pro is bigger than the Galaxy S6. The Galaxy S6 has a metal frame and Corning Gorilla Glass 4 on its back panel. The Mi Note Pro has a similar metal frame and curved Corning Gorilla Glass 3 on its back panel. The major difference between the devices is that the Galaxy S6 has a home button in front with a finger print sensor incorporated into it. The Mi Note Pro does not have it.
Display
The display on the Mi Note Pro is naturally bigger. It has an IPS LCD screen measuring 5.7 inches with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels and a density of 515 pixels per inch. As for the Galaxy S6, it has a super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen measuring 5.1 inches with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels and a density of 577 pixels per inch.
Specs
The Mi Note Pro has the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chipset, an octa-core CPU with four Cortex-A53 cores clocked at1.5 GHz and four Cortex-A57 cores clocked at 2 GHz and an Adreno 430 GPU. As for the Galaxy S6, Samsung opted to use its homegrown Exynos 7420 chipset, which is faster. It is coupled with an octa-core CPU with four Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.5 GHz and four Cortex-A57 cores clocked at 2.1 GHz and a Mali-T760MP8 GPU.
Memory
Both devices do not have a memory card slot and hence no external storage can be added. In terms of RAM, the Mi Note Pro comes with 4 GB while the Galaxy S6 has 3 GB.
Camera
The Mi Note Pro has a 13 megapixel camera at its rear with optical image stabilization while the Galaxy S6's main camera is a 16 megapixel version with optical image stabilization.
Price
The Mi Note Pro has been launched in China with an unlocked price tag of $480. The 32 GB Galaxy S6 has a full retail tag of $648. With a two-year contract it is priced at $199.
