'Game of Thrones' Season 5 Spoilers: Where are the Remaining Direwolves of the Starks?
If you are an avid "Game of Thrones" fan, both of the series and the books, you would notice something very noticeably missing in Season 5 – the Stark direwolves.
Let's do a rundown of events:
In Season 1, the Starks found a group of direwolf pups, one for each child, with even a runt for bastard Jon Snow. Each child named and cared for his/her own direwolf: Grey Wind for Robb, Lady for Sansa, Nymeria for Aria, Summer for Bran, Shaggydog for Rickon and Ghost for Jon.
We lost Lady early on, as she was killed by Ned Stark. Nymeria was turned loose and chased away by Aria into the woods to save her life. We lost Grey Wind during the Red Wedding last season where Robb, his wife, and his mother, Catelyn Stark, were murdered. But the rest have been visible up until the last season. So where are they now?
We know Nymeria is still running wild. According to the books (since this story arc has not been covered extensively in the TV series), Rickon and Shaggydog are off to Skagos with Osha. Will they meet up with Davos?
We already know that Bran will be absent in Season 5, so that means Summer will be absent as well. But in terms of story, Summer is with Bran with the Blood Raven underneath the giant werewood.
But what of the most important direwolf Ghost? Ghost was last seen at the end of Season 4 ripping bad guys apart. He is still on The Wall with Jon Snow, but it is unclear whether he is going to take Ghost with him to Hardhome to rescue the stranded wildlings. There are hints that an epic scene is going to happen at that location. Another option is that Ghost might be sent by Jon Snow, in his stead, with Melisandre, to reclaim Winterfell and to show his support for Stannis Baratheon.
