'Game of Thrones' season 7 cast news, spoilers: Angela Lansbury not appearing in S7; Euron will capture a Greyjoys?
Angela Lansbury will not be in the upcoming "Game of Thrones" season 7.
Following the widely reported news that the "Murder, She Wrote" star could appear in the HBO fantasy drama's next season, Entertainment Weekly said that the 90-year-old screen legend's representatives have shot down the rumor and said that the news is inaccurate.
Talk about Lansbury's rumored "Game of Thrones" casting began when a German media outlet called Bild reported that the multi-awarded actress is in talks to guest-star in two episodes of season 7. The outlet also said that should Lansbury agree to participate in "Game of Thrones," she would only be on the show's set for four days.
While she is best known for her Emmy-winning turn as mystery writer/amateur detective Jessica Fletcher in the long-running "Murder, She Wrote," Lansbury had also made her mark in film and in theater. In 2013, Lansbury, whose acting career spans more than eight decades, received an Honorary Academy Award.
The rumors about Lansbury's "Game of Thrones" casting followed the news that "Harry Potter" actor Jim Broadbent, another Hollywood luminary, had been cast in a "significant role" in the show's seventh season.
Meanwhile, Watchers on The Wall has some possible spoilers for "Game of Thrones" season 7. According to the fan website, based on the season 7 filming that occurred in the previous week, the upcoming chapter of HBO's award-winning series could find one of the Greyjoy siblings being captured by their uncle Euron (Pilou Asbæk).
The last time viewers saw Theon (Alfie Allen) and Yara (Gemma Whelan) Greyjoy, the two Ironborn siblings were sailing with Daenerys (Emilia Clarke) towards Westeros.
According to Watchers on The Wall, season 7 could feature a major sea battle in which Euron will catch up with Dany's fleet and hold one of the Greyjoys captive.
The website also noted that Euron will be teaming up with the newly crowned Queen Cersei (Lena Headey) and that he will "take out" a Sand Snake or two.
"Game of Thrones" season 7 premieres in 2017 on HBO.
