Winter is finally coming to "Game of Thrones" in season 7 as the production is said to be going back to Iceland to film scenes for the eagerly awaited installment. In previous seasons, specifically season 2 and season 3, several scenes had been shot in the country's wintry climes.

A report stated that the icy scenes coming up will be shot in Iceland come January. The surrounding winter whiteness and sheer snow are the ideal setting for the winter plots which will be hatched in season 7 of "Game of Thrones."

With this arrangement, fans are wondering if it is a sign that scenes will be largely taking place at The Wall. If so, some six or more leading characters on the show may be traveling to the area for the shoot, very likely including Jon Snow (Kit Harington), Littlefinger (Aidan Gillen), Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner), Bran Stark (Isaac Hempstead-Wright), Benjen Stark (Joseph Mawle), and Meera Reed (Ellie Kendrick).

An Iceland shoot also brings fans to speculate on whether The Wall, mighty and insurmountable it may have appeared to be, would be shown collapsing in the upcoming run of the show. While there is no official word on this, the thought of The Wall falling only brings to viewers' minds the danger of an onslaught from the White Walkers. It is widely known among fans of the book series as well as the television series that The Wall is the only thing that is keeping the realm safe from the White Walkers.

It was earlier reported that the airing of "Game of Thrones" season 7 will be moved back since the production would have to wait for the appropriate weather to appear, meaning the dark, gloomy, and cold winter weather which would be more appropriate for the scenes that will unfold in the next installment.

Should the January Iceland shoot hold true, fans may hope to catch "Game of Thrones" season 7 premiere sometime in May 2017.
