'Game of Thrones' season 7 premiere date, cast news, spoilers: Daenerys to fail at conquering the Iron Throne?
An HBO poster for "Game of Thrones" season 7 hints at the upcoming fire vs. ice war on the show. Meanwhile, the first trailer for season 7 might be indicating that Daenerys (Emilia Clarke) will fail at conquering the Iron Throne.
"Game of Thrones" season 7 finally has a premiere date, which will be on July 16 on HBO. The season 7 premiere date was revealed after three Facebook Live sessions, where fans of the show had to comment the word "fire" on the live video to melt the ice and unveil the premiere date.
The second Facebook Live stream earned 150,000 viewers, while the third and final live feed earned 160,000 viewers.
Shortly after revealing the premiere date, a trailer was revealed by HBO that might be hinting at the fate of the Mother of Dragons.
On the trailer, it featured the voice overs of the different houses that are determined to claim the Iron Throne, with Daenerys' iconic line at the end.
"Lannister, Targaryen, Baratheon, Stark, Tyrell — they're all just spokes on a wheel. This one's on top, then that one's on top, and on and on it spins, crushing those on the ground," Daenerys said.
But the line that was supposed to come after, which is "I'm not going to stop the wheel. I'm going to break the wheel," was not mentioned. It was instead replaced by the Targaryen sigil crumbling to bits and pieces, with Jon Snow (Kit Harrington) saying that the only war that matters is the one involving the Great Whites.
Could it mean that Daenerys will not be able to "break the wheel" of power that revolves around the Iron Throne?
Anything can happen in the last two seasons of "Game of Thrones," as Harrington pointed out during an interview with The Huffington Post, "I think we're trying to break boundaries and push past boundaries in these final two seasons."
"Game of Thrones" season 7 premieres on July 16 on HBO.
