It appears that Sansa — portrayed by Sophie Turner — will live on to season 8 of "Game of Thrones." Meanwhile, an unlikely alliance might form between Daenerys' advisor, Varys (Conleth Hill), and Littlefinger (Aidan Gillen).

"Game of Thrones" season 7 is expected to premiere this year, and a lot of new story arcs are expected to unfold this 2017. One of these is the revealing of Jon Snow's (Kit Harrington) birthright to the Iron Throne and his sibling relation to the Mother of Dragons. Another is the battle against the White Walkers, where it is anticipated that Daenerys, Jon Snow, and Cersei (Lena Headey) will join forces to ensure their survival against the Walkers.

However, "Game of Thrones" season 7 does not ensure that all the pivotal characters will live for a new season. But Turner, who was present at the 2017 British Academy Film Awards, revealed significant information about "Game of Thrones" season 8.

According to HeyUGuys who covered the event, Turner said, "We're about to start shooting the next 'X-Men,' we've just finished shooting Season 7 of '[Game of] Thrones,' and I've got a couple of movies to do before 'X-Men' starts. And then we go on to season 8."

It might not seem that Turner revealed much, but the actress confirmed her appearance for "Game of Thrones" season 8 by sharing that it's included on her schedule of filming. There were previous rumors that Sansa will no longer make it past season 7, but Turner's statement indicates otherwise.

Meanwhile, it is speculated that one of the many unlikely alliances to form in "Game of Thrones" season 7 is between Varys and Littlefinger.

These two characters already had hostile exchanges of words in previous seasons, but it is possible that they will work together once they are brought to meet each other through Daenerys and Jon Snow.

Hill shared, "I can tell you that I loved working with Aiden Gillen, and I can tell you that it's possible we work together again... But not definite," Cinema Blend reports.

"Game of Thrones" season 7 is slated to premiere summer of 2017.
