'Game of Thrones' season 7 spoilers, predictions: Who will Jon Snow marry: Sansa, Daenerys or Cersei?
After a heavy last season of war and revelations, and much more in between, "Game of Thrones" season 7 will find the characters poised to pick the winning side in the "game" of thrones.
Regarding Jon Snow's (Kit Harington) marriage -- which is mostly speculative in nature for now as the show creators have not given any confirmation it will happen -- it is thought that a few choices exist as to the possible wife for the baseborn: Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner), Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke), and Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey).
Regarding the first choice, Sansa Stark, the initial reaction of many fans would be instant recoil, considering that for so long, Jon and Sansa were considered siblings. Yet, with the recent infographic from HBO revealing Snow's parents as Lyanna Stark and Rhaegar Targaryen, Jon and Sansa have been revealed to be actually cousins. With Jon having an authentic claim on the Iron Throne and Sansa on Winterfell, their union would put them in a good position to rule strongly over the Seven Kingdoms.
This may likely feel unnatural to many, no matter what the gain involved. Turner, in fact, has shared what she thinks of this partnership.
"I feel like Jon and Sansa would be a strange one, especially because isn't it considered not legitimate if you haven't consummated the marriage, and I really don't think either of them would be particularly up for that," Turner told Variety.
A more probable alliance by marriage, as Turner agrees, would be that between Jon and Daenerys.
She opined, "I think Jon and Daenerys are going to end up together, probably."
The second pairing may be considered even ickier than the idea of Jon-Sansa pairing, given that Daenerys is Jon's aunt, but together they would have a stronger claim on the Iron Throne, with both being bona fide contenders. They just have to arrive at an agreement of who will actually assume the ruling over the kingdoms.
Harington, on the other hand, would go for the third choice, Cersei. Although he initially picked Daenerys when asked by Heat Magazine which "Game of Thrones" character he would consider marrying, he later stuck to Cersei as his final choice.
"Marry Daenerys. No, actually [I] wouldn't. No." he said. "Marry...ummm, Marry Cersei. I would let people think that one through."
The actor also hinted that Jon would first marry her before killing her brother, Jaime (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau).
