'Gears of War 4' update: Halloween-themed events and items released; introduces Pumpkin Ball
Halloween is coming up and as per tradition, The Coalition added events and items in "Gears of War 4" to celebrate the spooky season.
According to reports, the third-person shooter video game now has a new version of a mode and it's called Pumpkin Ball. It is described to be a unique spin on the existing Dodgeball game mode as it introduces one-second respawn times and reduced respawn protection. As a result, the entire Dodgeball experience has a faster pace and the dead don't remain dead for long. Gamers are basically in for some frantic action.
Five darker maps have been added in the social playlist as well. It includes Fallout, Forge, Harbor, Impact and Lift. Aside from that, the Pumpkin Ball players don Halloween-themed attires during the event. The Pumpkin Head helmet has also made a comeback.
Game Rant also detailed that those who take part in the Pumpkin Ball are awarded double XP and it can be found under Events in the Versus menu. Players can also make use of real or in-game currency in a Halloween Elite Pack which comes with a guaranteed Epic or Legendary quality card from the Day of the Dead Legendary collection. It is only available until Nov. 1.
Other than the new themed updates, a report said that "Gears of War 4" also received a fix to increase the credits and experience that can be acquired from its Horde Mode. The increase is applicable to all difficulties and The Coalition intentionally made the change so that players will not feel that they are being castigated for attempting to try higher difficulties without making it to 50.
Moreover, future updates are said to come with noisier teammate footsteps, tougher penalties and different footsteps. Fans will have to stay tuned for that.
"Gears of War 4" is available now on the Xbox One and Windows 10.
