'General Hospital' spoilers and update: Vanessa Marcil returns to show? Alexis hits Julian

"General Hospital" is celebrating Thanksgiving but in true soap opera fashion, a wonderful holiday can turn into a dark one. A familiar face will also be reappearing.

As detailed in Celeb Dirty Laundry, there is a chance that Vanessa Marcil will return to the soap opera to reprise her role as Brenda. The speculation started after Marcil tweeted links to her Instagram account wherein she posted two photos with the captions "Big news coming..." and "We are coming home." 

Marcil did not give any explanations about her posts but fans were quick to assume that it was related to returning to "General Hospital." They believed that it's time for her to come back and reunite with her old flame, Sonny (Maurice Benard).

The couple is a fan-favorite and several have followed their love story since the '90s. They reunited in 2002, 2010 and again in 2013. Since then, Sonny has found love with Carly (Laura Wright). But looking at the situation of Carly and Sonny right now, it seems like the relationship of the two will fall apart.

Carly has pushed Sonny away since the death of Morgan (Bryan Craig) and now it seems like she doesn't want to have anything to do with him. She has also been hanging out with Jax (Ingo Rademacher) and the two are getting intimate. If Carly is turning to Jax, there's a chance that Brenda's return will easily bring her back to Sonny.

Spoilers suggest that Carly will confess to Sonny about kissing Jax. Sonny will not take it well, Nelle (Chloe Lanier) will take advantage of the situation by whispering to Sonny that he should punish Carly. This could be the time that Brenda will come around.

Meanwhile, Soap Hub also detailed that Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn) will hit Julian (William DeVry). She will try to save him and even beg him to live because if he dies, her life will become worse than ever. Will Alexis be able to save herself?
