'General Hospital' spoilers & update: Charlotte's custody battle settled; show to lose Laura Wright and Anthony Montgomery?
The tension is high in "General Hospital" as the custody battle for Charlotte (Scarlett Fernandez) moves forward. Griffin (Matt Cohen) and Valentin (James Stuart) have been fighting over the right of the child but it seems like the favor is tipping toward Valentin.
According to spoilers, a rush court hearing will take place to rule on Charlotte's custody. Griffin and Valentin will be present as well as Anna (Finola Hughes), who will be giving support to the former. But fans can already tell that Valentin has a better chance of winning because Griffin is merely a stranger to Charlotte.
He is no match to Valentin who is the child's biological father. Because Valentin's criminal charges have been dropped, he is a clean slate and a suitable guardian for the little girl. Griffin is aware of that too and spoilers suggest that he will be storming out of the hearing. Valentin, on the other hand, is all smug and confident because he knows that the child is his. And once Charlotte is under his custody, Nina (Michelle Stafford) will be her new mom.
But will Nina be able to keep Charlotte for a long time? Spoilers reveal that the next mystery that will be unveiled is Nina's daughter. It's speculated that she is linked to Laura (Genie Francis) in some way although it's uncertain for now how she could have another child. Fans will have to stay tuned to that to find out the real story.
Meanwhile, reports state that two characters are set to go missing in the series. Laura Wright and Anthony Montgomery may be saying goodbye to Port Charles soon. Montgomery, who plays the role of Dr. Maddox, is said to be ready to exit soon because his character's plotline may be nearing its end already.
As for Wright, her character Carly has been grieving lately after her son's death. She is said to fly to Australia with her other family to take some time off. This plotline is the perfect cover for Wright's departure. But reports say that she will be back soon.
"General Hospital" airs from Monday to Friday on ABC.
