'Gilmore Girls' revival news 2016: Amy Sherman-Palladino talks about controversial ending; Matt Czuchry offers advice to Logan

Rory (Alexis Bledel) and Lorelai (Lauren Graham) in "Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life" | Netflix

Over a week since "Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life" dropped on Netflix, buzz about its very controversial ending still hums. The revival's ending does not really feel like an ending but a narrative opening in case the show gets revisited again. That being said, creator Amy Sherman-Palladino is not taking the finale as an easier way for them to come back. Instead, she defends the choice to leave the story as it is saying that the decision organically came out to be.

For those who have not yet had the chance to watch the revival, there are major spoilers ahead so proceed only if you don't mind unwanted reveals.

In an exclusive chit-chat with Entertainment Weekly, the writer reiterated that the reveal that Rory (Alexis Bledel) is pregnant does not necessarily mean that they are planning for more "Gilmore Girls" content moving forward. In the last sequence of the series, Lorelai's (Lauren Graham) daughter reveals to her that she is pregnant. As to who the father is? It was never revealed. In fact, no other details were shared except that Rory is actually expecting.

"It wasn't open-ended for any nefarious reasons. It's open-ended because life is open-ended. One of the things that I always liked that we did on Gilmore is we never ended things with a hug, we never concluded things, we never had the moment where it's like, 'Everything is going to be okay.' I think that that was the element here — it seems like Lorelai's settled, it seems like Emily's settled, but you know what? Life continues and life never is settled until you're dead and somebody throws you in a box," Sherman-Palladino stressed, which makes sense given how the show promotes mirroring of real life.

Still, it cannot be helped by fans to clamor for any kind of additional information and they are not the only one. Even cast member Matt Czuchry who plays Logan, Rory's ex-beau and one of the frontrunners in terms of who the unborn child's father is, offers some advice to his character which is arguably a good material for more "Gilmore Girls" story.

"Chase down Rory and make that work. She is the love of your life! Odette I always kind of looked at as part of [Logan's] family obligations," he bluntly said in a recent Facebook Live Question and Answer session.

The four 90-minute episodes of "Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life" is still available via Netflix.
