'Girl Meets World' Season 2 spoilers, plot news: Riley, Maya, Lucas resolution for love triangle
The "Girl Meets World" Season 2 finale revealed the Riley, Maya, and Lucas love triangle where the two guys openly expressed their feelings for Maya. This made the fans wonder if the budding love triangle will be emphasized in the new season of Girl Meets World.
The answer to that puzzling suspicions is YES. There will definitely more of the love triangle to be shown as the season continues. The show's showrunner and creator, Michael Jacobs, when interviewed by The Wrap, revealed that in the next season of Girl Meets World, the three (Rowan Blanchard as Riley, Sabrina Carpenter as Maya, and Peyton Meyer as Lucas) will get to resolve their love issues. The show's growing fan base will definitely watch out for this. The three will be turning high school in the show's third season.
But, during his interview, Jacobs described the budding romance as just a part of the sub-plots that actually focused on a bigger theme which is on how teenagers see relationships during this phase of their lives where they are still growing up.
Michael Jacobs added how much season 3 will reveal. He told the publication that the focus on the mentioned theme will most likely reach the half of the entire season although not as the focal point of the story but again as substories to the main theme.
Jacobs said during his interview with The Wrap, "And then we bring it up to primary, we will resolve it in a way that shows an answer to a much bigger question, which is, how do young people at this age perceive relationships? What is the value of them? And what are our friendships, really? If the audience perceives that what we're talking about is 14-year-olds in love, they have missed what we're doing entirely. All of this will explain itself as part of the season."
The GMW creator also added that the tone and subject of the show will shift as the characters will be facing more serious issues that teenagers today are facing just like underage drinking.
He cleared out during the interview that the show will try to project intriguing and rather compelling new episodes that are to watch out for. The issues that the characters will be facing are issues are truly happening in high school. Jacobs added, "I think high school is the most confusing, awful, terrible, and ultimately--if you do it right--wonderful springboard into college and the rest of your life. But it's high school we remember. So these are the episodes I want you to remember and we're trying to do our best."
In spite of the heavy subjects being delved into in the show, Jacobs reassures his audience that he is still putting into mind that much of his fan base are children ages 6 years old and maybe even younger.
Lastly, Jacobs assured GMW's younger fan base that the show will feature episodes within their parameters.
