'Girl Meets World' season 4 renewal: Disney deems too early to make a call, looking for right time to make announcement?
The wait continues for the renewal of "Girl Meets World" season 4, which is getting agonizing to fans by the minute especially with the current season on hiatus at the moment.
Filming for "Girl Meets World" season 3 has been completed since July and lead star Rowan Blanchard has expressed doubts about the show's fate.
In an interview with SheKnows, the actress revealed that they are still waiting on Disney Channel's world about the "Girl Meets World" season 4 renewal.
"I know as much as you do," Blanchard said. "We are hoping for a Season 4, obviously, because we want to continue our story, and I feel like it's an important story to tell," she continued.
However, if the show will meet its end in the season 3 finale wraps up, the young star assured that the "Boy Meets World" spinoff will end with a bang.
"As of right now, we just finished [filming] Season 3 and we're still waiting on the word. But we do have more episodes coming out this year that air into early 2017, so we're covered for a little bit," Blanchard said.
This is the same implication from the Disney Channel representative that spoke to TVLine a few months back about the "Girl Meets World" season 4 renewal.
This suggests that it might just be too early for Disney to think about a new season with "Girl Meets World" season 3 extending to next year.
"With episodes airing on Disney Channel into 2017, there's no news to share yet about a fourth season," the rep said when asked about the show's fate.
However, some believe that should "Girl Meets World" season 4 happen, they would prefer it on Freeform, the home of its parent series, so as to give the show more freedom in the topics it tackles.
"Girl Meets World" season 3 will be back on air on Oct. 14 with its Halloween episode "Girl Meets World of Terror 3."
