'Girl Meets World' season 4 renewal update: creator shares idea for new season as search for new home continues
Netflix officially passed up on housing "Girl Meets World" season 4, but the beloved "Boy Meets World" spinoff is yet to run out of options for its resurrection.
Michael Jacobs, creator of the show and its parent series, continues his search for a new venue to share more of Riley (Rowan Blanchard) and company's adventures.
"I'm making an attempt to find a home for an evolution of the franchise," Jacobs revealed during an interview with Deadline. He also has an idea what "Girl Meets World" season 4 will be about.
"The fourth season was going to be about dealing with change and loss and learning something from it as we have from all of our episodes," he explained.
He said in the past that "Girl Meets World" season 4 deserved to happen, but he also understands that the show was bound for the curtain call already. Either way, he goes on with shopping the show to a new network.
Whether or not "Girl Meets World" season 4 will find a new home, Jacobs is thankful for the support and the love given to the show. However, that does not mean he will stop trying to have the show live to see another year.
"The last thing we want to do is overstay our welcome when we have always been so warmly received. But the idea I have to continue is a good one. If somebody moves on it immediately, great. If not, it's been on the air going on 25 years. Lots of lessons learned," he said.
The series finale, "Girl Meets Goodbye," aired last Tuesday. It staged a massive "Boy Meets World" reunion. The episode saw Topanga (Danielle Fishel) mull over accepting a job offer at London, but deciding to stay instead after realizing her "bay window" was always the coffee house.
