'Girl Meets World' season 4 renewal update: Disney ready to axe show?

It is looking more and more unlikely that a "Girl Meets World" season 4 renewal will be given the green light.

The writers recently revealed the titles of the final episodes of the current run and the season 3 finale was revealed to be titled "Girl Meets Goodbye."

This was understood by fans that "Girl Meets World" season 4 is not on the table and that the season 3 finale would serve as the series finale as well.

Disney usually gives its shows four seasons. This is true with the most recent shows of the network, but "Girl Meets World" will not be the first series to be cut short to three seasons if it gets the ax soon.

The ratings of the "Boy Meets World" spinoff have noticeably been on a decline, a major factor that will likely contribute to the possible cancellation of "Girl Meets World" season 4.

There are only six episodes remaining in the current season but Disney is still silent about the show's fate. Unless these episodes redeem the show, it might be the end for Riley (Rowan Blanchard) and company's journey.

August Marturo, who plays Riley's little brother Auggie, has recently hinted the show's possible cancellation by tweeting that he is "not ready for Goodbye," in reference to the final episode of season 3.

Fans of the show hope that Disney will give "Girl Meets World" a chance to have season 4. However, some would prefer to continue on Freeform (formerly known as ABC) instead.

ABC was, of course, the home of "Boy Meets World" and the spinoff will certainly not feel out of place should it be moved there. Airing on Freeform will also allow the show to deal with more sensitive and mature topics that Disney would not allow.

"Girl Meets World" season 3 is currently on a hiatus. It will return on Friday, Nov. 4 with an episode titled "Girl Meets Her Monster."
