'Girl Meets World' season 4 renewal update: Show cancelled? Cast members sign on to new projects
There remains no news on a sought-after "Girl Meets World" season 4 renewal, but there is so much to talk about how the cast of the "Boy Meets World" spinoff spends their time-off.
It was recently announced that lead star Rowan Blanchard, who plays the titular character Riley Matthews in the series, was tapped to play a role in the upcoming film, "A Wrinkle in Time."
The beloved Disney star will join the star-studded cast of the movie adaptation— which includes Oprah Winfrey and Reese Witherspoon—based on the classic tale written by Madeleine L'Engle.
Filming for the film has just begun, which means that Blanchard might be too busy for "Girl Meets World" season 4 or that her schedule has just cleared up due to the show's possible cancellation.
Depending on Blanchard's role in "A Wrinkle in Time" and the timing of a possible "Girl Meets World" season 4 renewal, the star might be done with the shoot in time for the series, should Disney give the nod anytime soon.
Filming of a new season of the series takes place at least a couple of months after renewal. With "Girl Meets World" season 4 still in limbo, the cast will have plenty of time for other projects.
Production for the show is a serious commitment as it usually spans up to six months. The fact that Blanchard is doing a movie suggests that she has free time on her hands, which could be brought about by "Girl Meets World" season 4 possibly not happening.
For Sabrina Carpenter, who plays Riley's best friend Maya Hart, the starlet has her full attention in making music, having just released her new album "EVOlution."
She is currently on tour to promote the album, which began late last month and will end in December. With that said, Carpenter will be on the road up to the rest of the year.
If "Girl Meets World" season 4 were to happen, it might take a while to arrive with the stars branching out and the duration of the filming.
"Girl Meets World" season 3 just returned after a three-week hiatus with "Girl Meets Her Monster." It will be three more weeks before fans get to see the next episode titled "Girl Meets Hollyworld."
