'Girl Meets World' season 4 renewal updates, season 3 spoilers: Cast members hoping season 4 pushes through; Riley and Lucas breaking up?
"Girl Meets World" season 4's fate is still unknown. With the current season airing new episodes until 2017, there's no guarantee if the show will return for a fourth season or if Disney Channel will decide to cancel it. If it were up to the cast members, they want to be back for a fourth installment.
Clamor of fans for a fourth season of "Girl Meets World" seems to be falling on deaf ears as it remains unclear whether Disney will keep it on the air. There are talks that Disney is second-guessing the storyline of the upcoming season considering Rowan Blanchard, who plays the lead character, Riley, is not getting any younger. The storyline is bound to get more mature as time passes.
Riley and Maya (Sabrina Carpenter) are currently in senior high school, so they will ultimately be moving on to the next stage of their lives. They will be facing bigger and more mature issues, stuff that may not fit Disney's programming and target audience.
Some are saying it will be better for Disney to move the series to Freeform, which is airing "Boy Meets World," the series' prequel show. In fact, one fan started an online petition on Change.org for Freeform to continue the show should Disney decide to cancel it.
If it were up to Blanchard, she wants the show to continue. Apparently, she feels that the show has an important story to tell, and if it means continuing the show on another network, then she's all for it.
Meanwhile, in "Girl Meets World" season 3's episode 15, it looks like Riley and Lucas (Peyton Meyer) will be calling it quits. The episode is part of "Girl Meets World of Terror 3," the show's Halloween special. It seems Riley, Lucas, and Maya will be playing various what-if scenarios in the said episode, so the possibility of exchanging partners is high.
"Girl Meets World" season 3 episode 15 titled "Girl Meets World of Terror 3" will air on Oct. 14 on Disney Channel.
