Google Nexus 2016 release date rumors and news: Flagship smartphone likely to come out this month with Android N?
Following the announcement from Google that they will be releasing their new operating system anytime soon, fans are wondering if the software will debut on a new Nexus smartphone. Previous reports suggested that the Google Nexus 2016 smartphone may not likely to come out this year; however, the latest buzz circulating are saying that the handset may arrive this month with along with Android N or Android Nougat.
Nonetheless, Google has yet to confirm these reports but many fans believe that it is only a matter of time before the company provides an official statement.
According to previous reports, Google has tapped the Taiwanese tech giant, HTC, to help them manufacture the Nexus 2016. Apparently, the plan is to develop and release two Nexus devices before the year ends. Rumor has it that HTC has already started the development of the two handsets, which will be called as Nexus Sailfish and Nexus Marlin.
According to a report by 9to5Google, a GFX Benchmark result revealed the specs of the two smartphones. Both the Nexus Marlin and Nexus Sailfish will run on a Snapdragon 820 from Qualcomm. The Sailfish will carry a 5-inch screen with 1080p display resolution. The powerful processor will be paired with 4 GB of RAM. It will be sporting a 12 MP primary camera, while its front-facing snapper will be at 8 MP.
On the other hand, the Nexus Marlin will come with 5.5-inch screen that is capable of playing 2K videos. The HTC made device will also carry a bigger battery for extended usage at 3450mAh.
Other features of the Google Nexus 2016 include a fingerprint scanner, USB Type-C port and an app dock, Ecumenical news learned.
As of the moment, Google has yet to provide concrete details with regard to the development and release of the upcoming smartphone. Nonetheless, fans are positive that the handset will come out this year with Android Nougat.
