Google's latest operating system (OS) has finally rolled out for the Google Nexus 6 device. After what seemed like a long wait, users of the said model can now enjoy the perks of the new OS just like the users of the Nexus 5x, Nexus 6P, Nexus Player and Nexus 9 Wi-Fi, which received the update first.

According to reports, some Nexus 6 users confirmed that they finally received the over-the-air update. It took a while for the device to receive it leading some to doubt its arrival as it has been delayed for more than a month. It was supposed to be rolled out back in August.

There was no explanation behind the delay but reports said that it may have something to do with the update's clash with the battery life. It is said that the Android 7.0 Nougat may be consuming a lot of the battery power of the device.

The company was able to deal with the issue though and so Google released a Nougat factory image with a flashable OTA file. The next device expected to receive the update soon is the Google Nexus 9, a 9-inch tablet released in 2014.

The rollout of the Android 7.0 Nougat for the Google Nexus 6 arrived just a little earlier before the launch of the Google Pixel and Pixel XL, the company's newest series of smartphones. The devices feature 5-inch and 5.5-inches display respectively. Both are said to be produced by HTC and appear similar except for their sizes.

The Pixel has a dimension of 143.8 x 69.5 x 8.6 millimeters while the Pixel XL has a dimension of 154.7 x 75.7 x 8.6 mm. Both also have Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection and a 12.3-megapixel rear camera. In front, it features an 8-megapixel selfie snapper. Both the Google Pixel and Pixel XL would be released by November.
