'Gotham' season 3 episode 4 spoilers, plot news: Gordon meets the Mad Hatter, his ex-fiancée and Falcone's son
Madness like it's never seen before has just arrived in Gotham and he couldn't have been more aptly named. Also, he has just managed to break into Jim Gordon's (Ben McKenzie) head.
Hypnotist Jervis Tetch (Benedict Samuel) came to Gotham in search of his sister, Alice (Naian González Norvind), who was one of the Indian Hill escapees. His villainous ways were revealed early on in this week's' episode of "Gotham: Mad City," but he paid good cash and Jim needed the job.
However, when things went downhill in the final minutes of "Mad City: Look Into My Eyes," Jervis escaped after planting the seeds of his hypnosis into Jim's mind. In the next episode of FOX's DC-based series, Alice tells Jim the last thing that he wants to hear: "You're doomed."
According to the official episode summary cited by Comingsoon.net, next week's episode is titled "Mad City: New Day Rising." More madness is about to descend to Gotham City.
Oswald Cobblepot (Robin Lord Taylor) is running for mayor with his good friend and newly released Arkham inmate Edward Nygma (Cory Michael Smith) by his side. Bruce Wayne's (David Mazouz) doppelganger is out and is trying his new identity on for size. If he easily fooled Selina Kyle (Camren Bicondova) into believing he's the real Bruce, who knows what else he can do?
The preview posted by FOX also features Capt. Nathaniel Barnes (Michael Chiklis) warning Harvey Bullock (Donal Logue) that his connection with Jim will get him killed someday. True to "Gotham" fashion, it looks like it just might, if Jim does not end up killing his old partner himself. As Barbara Kean (Erin Richards) so appropriately puts it at the end of the preview, "You must be monumentally screwed."
Another thing worth noting in this week's episode is the revelation that Lee Thompkins' (Morena Baccarin) fiancé, Mario (James Carpinello), is actually the son of Gotham's former mob boss, Carmine Falcone (John Doman). Falcone once told Jim that he was like a son to him. It will be interesting to see how will play into the season's narrative.
"Gotham: Mad City" episode 4 airs on Monday, Oct. 10 at 8 p.m. EDT on FOX.
