Grey's Anatomy Season 11 Spoilers for October 16 Episode: Meredith to Unlock Mysteries from Ellis Grey's Past

Fans are hoping to see Meredith find about the mysteries of her past on this week's episode of Grey's Anatomy, and finally come up with a resolution as the mysteries have been hidden for too long. The episode will also be about Callie "pressing forward with the veterans" despite the circumstances with Owen, according to Cartermatt.

A brief synopsis of the next episode of Grey's Anatomy Season 11 reads, "Meredith watches some old videos and readers her mother's journals. She learns some secrets from Ellis Grey's past. Maggie makes an unexpected announcement. Alex takes on more responsibilities. Callie focuses on the veterans' project."

For those who were not able to watch, a recap for the previous episode entitled Got to be Real that aired last October 9 reads, "Things seem to be falling apart at Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital. Owen takes Callie to a veteran's hospital with hopes of her using her lab to provide wounded veterans robotic legs.

"However, she's not able to help one of the veterans due to damaged nerves, until Jackson steps in. As Alex tries to prepare for his presentation to fill Cristina's position on the board, Meredith distracts him with the news of her new sister, Maggie. Searching through hospital records, Meredith finds out that Maggie is indeed her sister.

"Ellis was unknowingly pregnant when she was admitted for slitting her wrists. Derek and Amelia fight over being the Chief of Neurosurgery, which makes Derek second guess his decision to stay in Seattle. With the new fellowship and the wounded veterans project, Arizona is concerned about having the time to have another baby causing Callie to once again doubt their future together.

"Richard attempts to tell Maggie that he is her father, but she already knew who he was and faults him for not telling her sooner. Alex and Bailey go head to head in front of the board for the open spot; Bailey is given the seat leaving Alex without a job."

The next episode of Grey's Anatomy Season 11, entitled "Only Mama Knows", will air on October 16, 2014 on ABC.
