'Grey's Anatomy' season 13 spoilers, plot news: Amelia and Owen's marriage already on the rocks

Although they are just in the early phase of their marriage, Amelia (Caterina Scorsone) and Owen's (Kevin McKidd) relationship is already on the rocks and fans will see more of that in the next episode of "Grey's Anatomy" season 13.

When the two got married last season, fans were given a heads-up that things will be rough between the two even in the initial months they become a married couple.

Signs of that will begin to show up in "Grey's Anatomy" season 13 episode 4 "Falling Slowly." The synopsis of the instalment suggests that Amelia becomes "uncertain" of her relationship with her husband.

This should not come as a surprise to "Grey's Anatomy" fans as Scorsone already said that it will be a rough road to happiness for Amelia and Owen, but that does not mean they won't get there.

"You've gotta build them up to knock them down! I think Amelia and Owen's happiness is always going to be hard-won," the actress told TVLine.

"But wouldn't it be wonderful if they turned out to be exactly the couple who you say 'I give them six months!' and they end up being able to love each other [forever]?" she continued.

Scorsone also said that her character and Owen will be able to get through their problems. Whether or not this will be the case in "Grey's Anatomy" season 13 episode 14 will be interesting to see.

"I think they expect flaws and brokenness in a way that most people don't, so maybe they'll be able to weather life's bumps in a way that people wearing rose-colored glasses can't necessarily," she said.

Meanwhile, the episode will also see Alex (Justin Chambers) struggle to do the right thing while Riggs (Martin Henderson) tries to convince Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) to "hang out," which she is not keen on doing.

"Grey's Anatomy" season 13 episode 4 "Falling Slowly" will air Thursday, Oct. 13 at 8 p.m. EDT on ABC.
